The Wavey Ice brand was started in the summer of 2014 as a bit of fun between friends and a way for us to make a quick bit of cash over the summer in London.
The brand quickly developed somewhat of a cult following on social networks and Wavey Ice appeared at festivals and street parties such as Protein block party, Notting Hill Carnival and Brixton Splash.
Before long we were collaborating with UK burger behemoth MEATliquor on a custom Wavey Ice lolly which would be sold in all their restaurants across the UK. The ‘MEAT licker’ was a Jack Daniels bourbon and Cherry Kola flavour ice pop and was overall a great success. This project proved to be a huge learning curve and opened a lot of doors for the brand.
At the end of last summer we took the brand abroad with the intention of selling lollies on the beaches of Barcelona. With the help of long term friend Guillermo Herce AKA Spanish Will, we would make our way to the beach each morning on the back of Guillermo’s moped, selling around 100 lollies each day! It was a lot of hard work but it proved that the brand was definitely something worth pursuing.
The future of the Wavey Ice brand is exciting and our plans this summer include finally selling our lollies online, doing way more festivals and throwing a load of parties as well as appearing at more and more events up and down the country. We want to build a production facility here in Birmingham which will allow us to fulfill all our online orders as well as buying a Wavey Ice van which will mean we can appear at way more events and festivals!
We truly believe that with your help and support we can turn this exciting, unique and innovative brand into a household name with many years of success ahead. It’s going to be a crazy journey and we’d love to have you on board for the ride!

CEO and Founder
Alex Situnayake is a young entrepreneur from Birmingham, UK. He studied at Coventry University gaining a degree in Media Production, back in 2011, which has served him well whilst running the Wavey Ice brand. He moved to London in 2013 without much of a plan and quickly landed on his feet securing jobs at some high profile bars and restaurants around the capital. It was while he was working at Rita’s on Mare Street, Hackney, when he first came up with the idea for Wavey Ice. After 3 years of hard work in the capital Alex decided to head back to his hometown of Birmingham where he could fully focus all his time, energy and money into the future of the Wavey Ice brand.
Harry has recently joined the Wavey Ice team as the brand's first marketing intern. Harry is currently studying Media & Communication at Birmingham City University and we anticipate he will make a great addition to the team.
